Where the Whales Are!

Joyce Morrell has recorded dozens of whales in and at the mouth of Head Harbour Passage at Campobello. She provided the information for the attached map. The brown "ecological area" is where the whales congregate to feed on the abundant plankton and the general paths the whales travel while foraging are shown. The blue line is for finbacks. The green line is for minkes.

    The arrows have shifted a little bit to the south of where I had placed them on the map.
    The blue arrows are closer to Csco Bay island and the green arrows surround the islands and the lighthouse at the tip of Campobello.
    The whales also eat the herring that stream out of the mouth of the passage in the summer. Joyce
